ABOUT IAIN MCGILLIVRAY
Iain McGillivray is CEO of McGillivray Project Development, (MPD), which he started in 1998 to provide expert cost management and project management services to architects, engineers, owners and developers; worldwide. Iain is a certified quantity surveyor from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in the UK. He has more than two decades of cost management experience including estimating, cost control, scheduling, value engineering, contracts management, claims evaluation and preparation, and construction management. He also provides construction project management services and has managed projects from concept through to completion. Iain has worked on and directed major projects worldwide with scopes that range in value from $1 million to $4 billion.
He has lived and worked in Scotland, Norway, Dubai, California, Washington DC and Florida. Iain’s experience on project types is vast, and includes universities, K-12 schools, housing, oil and gas pipelines, senior living facilities, theme parks, restaurants, retail centers, zoos, fire stations, parking garages, airports, libraries, hotels, resorts, casinos, spas and timeshares. Prior to forming his own firm, Iain served as Chief Estimator for the $1.3 billion Islands of Adventure theme park for Universal Studios in Orlando, was Lead Estimator for Walt Disney Imagineering for Disney MGM Studios in Europe and North America, and Principal Estimator for Marriott Corporation, where he directed the Senior Living Services Program and the Capital Expenditure Program.
Since forming MPD, the firm has provided project and cost management services for the $200 million Legoland theme park in Germany, the $380 million Grande Lakes Resort in Orlando, the $700 million Bearfire Resort in Texas, and more. Today, the firm is nationally recognized as specialists in the hospitality and themed entertainment industries. Iain is a hands-on owner who knows everything about every project the firm is working on and his experience and advice to staff and clients is invaluable.
